Greeted with a traditional fireboat spray, the SPRUANCE Class Destroyer USS Peterson (DD 969) sails up the Hudson River, as her crew prepares to join in the festivities of Fleet Week 2002. More than 6,000 Sailors, Marines and Coast Guard personnel aboard 22 ships – including six warships returning from deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, the war against terrorism – sailed into New York today for the 15th Annual Fleet Week 2002.
