General Tommy Franks, Commander US Central Command, MacDill AFB, Florida, speaks with Madam Ambassador Maureen Quinn, US Ambassador to Qatar on matters of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. General Franks met with the Ambassador while on a tour of the bases around the Persian Gulf during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. In response to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 at the New York World Trade Center and the Pentagon, President George W. Bush initiated Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), fighting terrorism abroad.
