A US Navy F-14 Tomcat breaks away from the Drogue line after taking on fuel from a KC-10 Extender during a sortie over Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. The Tomcat is armed with two AIM 9 Sidewinder missiles, a Paveway II Laser Guided GBU-10 2,000-pound bomb, and LANTIRN Pod. Operation ENDURING FREEDOM is in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), fighting terrorism abroad, after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 at the New York World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
